Our mission is to alleviate poverty in Nicaragua by helping women acquire skills and tools needed to improve their lives; enabling children to go to school; providing access to community health services; and giving direct aid to victims of severe family hardship or regional crisis.

Success!

The Gift of Sight
Our generous sponsors do not give only the gift of education, but of many essentials that are often taken for granted by those of us living in the US. Student Jakarely was recently having major vision problems, but her family could not afford the cost of an eye exam. As many of you know, if you cannot see, it can be impossible to learn, let alone function day-to-day. It turns out that Jakarely needed glasses and, with an extra $50 donation, her sponsor gave her the gift of sight. Here's Jakarely in her new glasses...

Clinic for a Day
Our facility in Nicaragua has a medical clinic, which is currently - and unfortunately - unfunded. Historically, however, it has been a great success in the neighborhood and recently was used for the day by the Nicaraguan Department of Health. People lined up as early as 6am to see doctors and receive healthcare. We are happy to be able to lend our clinic to the good people at the DoH. Here are some photos:
