Do you know the history of Circulo de Amigas? Watch our video, directed and produced by dedicated sponsor, Roy McCord. While some circumstances of CdA have changed since this film was produced, its a wealth of information. Enjoy!
Círculo de Amigas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides charitable and educational help to Jinotega, Nicaragua. Our mission is to alleviate poverty in Nicaragua by helping women acquire skills and tools needed to improve their lives; enabling children to go to school; providing access to community health services; and giving direct aid to victims of severe family hardship or regional crisis.

GoodSearch
What if Circulo de Amigas earned a donation every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!
GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 30 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including (but not limited to) Target, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.
And if you download the Circulo de Amigas GoodSearch toolbar, our cause will earn money every time you shop and search online - even if you forget to go to GoodShop or GoodSearch first!
Add the Circulo de Amigas toolbar at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/circulo-de-amigas
Sunday Mornings
On Sunday, December 5th, the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fullerton kindly invited us to sell our coffee, purses, and greeting cards after their morning service. We also presented information about girls who are waiting to find sponsors. We are so grateful for the support of the UUF church; we'll be there after service on December 12th and December 19th, as well - stop by and say hello! Here are a couple of photos from this past weekend:
Nora, working hard!
Here is Nora Pedersen (right), manning our table, with our newest sponsor, Jennifer Myers, self-proclaimed Aspie at Large. Coincidentally, Jenn recently published a book titled, How to Teach Life Skills to Kids with Autism or Asperger's. Buy it through our Amazon.com link! Congratulations, Jenn!

And you thought YOUR computer was old!
CdA founder, Pat McCully, recently returned from a trip to Jinotega. She took the photos below. The computers we were using for community computer classes are so old, they won't work any longer. Needless to say, computer certification classes have stopped, but we're hopeful that sponsors will have a solution. Do you, or someone you know, have an old computer you'd like to donate to CdA? For transportation purposes, laptops are the best. We're looking for computers that are just a few years old and in working order. If you can help, please email Liz at treasurer@camigas.org.
Yes, you are looking at disk drives. Haven't seen those in years!

Heart and Hands: Hands On Community Service Day
CdA is grateful for such wonderful friends! Today, the volunteers at Heart and Hands in Newport Beach, California helped us cut plastic bags to send to Jinotega. These bags are used by Nicaraguan women to create the beautiful handbags that we sell at various events. Photos below.

The Ayudate Project
Thank you, Roy McCord, for all your work to get this movie made, edited, and online!
A Relaxing Afternoon
CdA had a successful gathering at the home of dedicated sponsors Roy McCord and Nora Pedersen. A little food, a bit of discussion, and the debut of Roy's new film, The Ayudate Project. It was a great afternoon and we were happy to see some familiar faces, and meet some new. Thank you, everyone! Photos below.

Amazon.com Associates Program
It's with great excitement that I announce our new connection with Amazon.com. This program allows CdA to earn money for every purchase made through the Amazon.com link on this blog page, as well as on our main website. It's simple:
(1) Click the link, which will take you to Amazon.com
(2) Shop!
(3) Buy!
It's that simple. You pay the usual stellar Amazon.com prices and CdA earns a small percentage of however much you spend. The more you buy, the more we earn -- in fact, the percentage we earn grows the more that you purchase!
Make sure to click the link every time you shop. This is easy money, but we can't do it without you!
